Painful loss

This morning our dearly beloved 19-year old Vandal died. He has had health troubles over the last year and has been slowly declining. Yesterday, he had fallen ill and Julia took him to a vet. They treated him and we thought the problem was dealt with. At 3:00 EST, Julia woke to discover Vandal was in some distress and took him to the emergency vet in Toledo. They tried to stabilize him, but were unable to get his sodium levels stabilized. When Julia visited him this morning, he made it clear that he was ready to go.

We'll miss him dearly.

I'm so sorry. I know how difficult it is to lose a pet. It's been less than 6 months since we lost Ragnall, our 15 year old.

I'm so very sorry. It's been a long time now and I still miss my Hobbes, who you both knew.

You went above and beyond what most would do for a pet with his health conditions to ensure he enjoyed as much of his life as he could, showing him your love and compassion all the way through.

Oh, I'm so sorry! I never met him, but you guys always told so many wonderful stories about him I felt like I did. It's never easy to lose a loved pet.
