sue_n_juliaJulia got her new work computer yesterday. It made her over half an hour late picking me up (bc the idiots setting it up forgot to make sure they put in the permissions for Outlook to run properly -- so it would only download 30 of her stored e-mails). She finally got to my office, we got my paycheck, and got the Buick from the mechanic's.
The Buick needed new brake lines, new rims, and suspension work. We got the new rims because I bent one shortly after I bought it and the corrosion was causing the tire to leak. The other front tire had a slow leak too, so we just did all four. With that, we had to get new hubcaps, which look really, really weird. They look like they should be on a wanna-be sportscar not on a stodgy Buick. I think we'll get used to them. Unfortunately, they aren't the locking kind anymore.
Next week we need to put the Element in for service. It's time for the 90,000 mile scheduled maintenance and we need to get the driver's lock looked at (it won't always accept the key and turn to unlock). We also need to get the windshield replaced -- we had an unfortunately encounter with a rock this summer that spidered clear across the lower portion of the windshield last Saturday. Pretty impressive actually.
