Somebody stole all of my spoons...
Feb. 8th, 2009 01:47 pm...and I want them back!
A couple of years ago,
eftychia wrote a wonderful entry about managing your energy when you have a chronic pain problem (unfortunately I can't find the entry). He used a handful of spoons as a metaphor for energy. To do any task requires spoons. Some days a task takes more spoons than on other days. So you have to carefully plan what you want to do to save as many spoons as possible.
Well, today (actually all weekend) I have almost no spoons. Going to the bathroom requires spending most of my spoons, so I have to rest after every trip. If I don't, I hear the blood rushing in my ears, feel like I got hit in the head with a 2x4, and my shoulder and neck tie up into knots.
Grmph, I want to make fried chicken for dinner. So I am staying in my chair as much as possible to conserve my spoons.
