Mar. 11th, 2005 10:43 amThings are starting to move in the business front. I'm working hard on networking -- in fact, I'm going to a conference tomorrow, The Women's Summit. There'll be a chance to meet some of the more proactive female business owners in the area.
I had planned to go to the local NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) meeting last night. Unfortunately, I had developed an eye infection and looked like I had been punched in the eye. Not exactly the first impression I wanted to make (plus it was sore). So I'll go next month.
Spokane is working on something it is calling its University District. This is an area just off downtown that will connect to a joint campus of Washington State University, Eastern Washington University, and, possibly, Gonzaga University. There will be a real education/health/hi-tech focus -- pretty much like Oakland in Pittsburgh. This means that over the next 5-10 years there will be some real possibilities for business opportunities for me. Cool!
