Sep. 5th, 2005 09:37 pmWe went to Crown Tourney this weekend. We'll have a local king next reign (both he and his father are like the once and every other kings around here; both have reigned three times). We'll see how that goes.
I survived the 5+ hour drive each way, though it got kind of tough yesterday. I think that was mostly due to not having gotten more than 2 hours of continguous sleep for the past two nights. Fri night we stayed in a hotel and some jerk drove by with his stereo blasting so loud I could hear for what seemed like three blocks (I counted at least three stop lights that he stopped at). Then Sat. night, the king decided to have a fundraiser that involved challenging each region to bring at least 5 gallons of Long Island Iced Tea to the "casino" on the list field so they could party. One region showed up with 20 gallons! This did not make the event organizers happy. We stayed in a hotel last night because it was getting cold and I needed some sleep. I got some and it helped!!!!
The event was rather nice. I'm needing to find other stuff to do because the principal herald doesn't want the submissions herald consulting (appearances, always appearances). So, I've been hanging around the cries area and being basically the info clearinghouse for the heralds. It seems to be working so far, but if I don't find something else to do with myself, I might go mad!! My voice won't hold up during camping events for voice heraldry, so that's out. There's no feast at camping events, so that's out. Hmmm. We'll see. I have decided to hold Lion's Blood hours so submitters can ask about their submissions, but that won't take a whole event (I hope).
Well, I'm rambling, so I better go to bed.
