Sep. 29th, 2005 08:27 pmI had my second physical therapy session yesterday. We started with an ultrasound (to create heat in the muscles) for about 15-20 minutes. Then we moved onto the heating pads and TENS unit. That felt great. The best was yet to come, though.
Bryce (my physical therapist) massaged my neck and shoulders for well over 1/2 hour. When I told him how bad the exercises were making me feel, he told me to hold off on them until we get some of the inflammation out of my muscles. I left there with a nicely loose neck and shoulders.
So, today has been a much less painful day. Unfortunately, I ran out of the anti-inflammatory and my dr. and her nurse weren't in (she takes two days a week off -- usually Th/Fr one week, then M/Tu of the next). I'm going to try to talk to another doctor tomorrow. I'm also considering switching doctors because I can't get hold of her when I need to and I do feel she didn't take this seriously enough when it started in April. I think if she had, I wouldn't be in so much pain today.
