Nov. 9th, 2005 07:48 pmThe wireless network is finally up and running. We had to pay a pretty penny, but it is done!!! We can both print in the study from the living room. Sure we still have to go turn on the printer, but we no longer have to drag the computers back and hook up wires. You know, I think I'm addicted to this wireless thing -- we each have a wireless mouse and wi-fi cards. When can we get wireless electric? ;>
Anyway, I don't remember if I mentioned that we had to replace Julia's laptop. Dell's respond REALLY badly to lactose. She had a coughing fit a week or so ago and sprayed her computer keyboard with cafe latte. So the keyboard has been getting steadily worse. Started with just not being able to type some letters and the computer seeming to think that a key was always pressed. Well, by yesterday, the keyboard accepted no input and the computer didn't acknowledge anything from the wireless keyboard either. Plus it was starting to show some problems with the touchpad (though that could have been caused by the seemingly stuck key). It did respond to the mouse, so she was able to get all her files off of it.
We've booked our flights for the holidays. We should be getting into Pgh ~6:30 a.m. the morning of the 21st. We plan to probably go to my parents and spend the 21st-23rd there. We'll leave on the 24th to go to TN to spend Christmas day with Julia's family. Around the 29th or so, we'll be coming back into Pgh to spend some time with everyone there. We'll be leaving ~6:30 p.m. on the 1st (getting in 2:30 local time).
