Dec. 2nd, 2005 06:13 pmWell, the adjustment to a "new culture" continues. The new thing to become accustomed to are road closures for avalanches - SNOW avalanches. I'm accustomed to road closures for rock falls or rock avalanches, who lives in Pittsburgh who hasn't dealt with that before. So this will be interesting.
Spokane hasn't gotten that much snow, maybe nine inches since Tuesday. But the mountains are getting a lot more. Ski resorts are opening all over the place; hopefully they can have a longish season to make make up for closing by February of last year. Not that I ski, but the local economy could use the tourism boost.
I've got to get ready for the class I'm teaching Monday night, potpourris and pomanders. I just have to get the materials for it, but am quite unmotivated. Not for any good reason, except that it's cold and Julia's out of town. Shopping by myself is NO FUN. hrmph.
Well, I probably should get dinner on now.
