Jun. 24th, 2007 11:00 amWe had some people over last night. It was really nice - while we had some cleaning to do, particularly outside, the cleaning didn't require a major upheaval of all our projects just to make room for company. I love having a house!
However, I am really sore today. Most of the cleaning involved mowing the lawn, running the weedwhacker (both Julia's tasks), aqnd sweeping the deck, stairs, sidewalk and driveway from the Cavalier to the deck (all mine). When I got down to the foot of the stairs in the backyard, I needed to tear the stuff out that was growing between the paving stones, so I did that. Sore city!
Julia and I have decided we need to do something about the west side of the house. It's inconvenient to get to and gets easily overgrown. And the utility meter is there. I thought of putting in some ground cover like ivy, but Julia countersuggested snow-on-the-mountain (aka Bishops weed). I like that idea -- I've got bunches where I don't want it and where it is getting in my way, but the side of the house is a good place for it. It will look good and won't be able to spread too easily.
