Last night after we got home from the grocery store, I decided to do some laundry (I love having my own washer and dryer!!). As I was opening the basement door, I heard some running water. I turned to ask Julia if she started some laundry and I didn't know it, then I realized that the water was free-flowing!

A pipe leading into our laundry sink had broken free. It hadn't been broken too long -- at the speed it was flowing, we figure no more than an hour or so before I wandered down. We turned the hose off, opened the downstairs door to air the basement out (no drain, no pump -- that's going to change), and set off to find a plumber. It wasn't an emergency, so we had him stop by today. Got off a lot cheaper than expected -- less than $200!

Fortunately, I had moved the camping gear away from the work benches because I wanted access to the benches. So the benches got wet, but the tent and sleeping bags were higher and stayed dry.
