Six and a half inches of snow this morning. It's supposed to taper by afternoon, but the radar isn't showing that (yet anyway). We'll see. Last night was bad enough that the Jay Leno show at one of the casinos was canceled because the plane couldn't land.

The powered shovel works well. It's really a mini-snow-blower. You have to propel it yourself, but that's okay. Instead of push, lift, throw, it's now just push. I can live with that (but I want the larger $200 model). I am still learning how to aim it and keep from blowing snow into the street or onto my neighbor's property (or my neighbor -- sorry Bryce).

Unfortunately, under the snow is ice. The shovel actually can get it up, but it's rough and not pretty. So we'll see how well the de-icer works.

Oh, yeah. Some of the local churches have canceled services because the roads are so bad. About the only thing close to clear is the interstates and some of the really major arterials.

We've gotten three and half inches since I cleared the walks this morning. They are calling for a potential of five to seven more inches before the storm is done. This is real snow.

We've had a plane slide off a runway at the airport here. No injuries have been reported, so this is good. The airport is probably going to shut down and divert everything. The snow is falling so hard right now that the lights on the runway are almost invisible.

We just got our power back. It was off for about an hour -- heavy snow causing lots of downed line. Miracle of miracles though, our street has been being plowed so that's good. Don't know if Julia or I have work tomorrow.

Just cleared the walk again. There were four and a half inches on the ground after clearing it this morning. That makes 11 inches total so far. The snow has slowed down; I don't expect more than another inch. But the weather guys (and gals) think we are going to get some snow every day this week.

Our street was cleared today!!! This is highly unusual for Spokane, particularly on a weekend. So we cleared the driveway out to the street. Now we need to see if either of us have work tomorrow.
