No visual disturbances today!!!! Unless you count getting your eyes dilated (more later...).

Vandal had his surgery and tooth-cleaning today. The vet took one toe on each front foot -- on the right foot, it was the toe that we knew was infected; on the left foot, it was a toe that had a nail that looks like the one we took on the right foot before it got infected. So he's on antibiotics and pain meds tonight. Poor guy is still loopy. He can't even walk yet, which is partly loopiness and partly the bandages on both feet (and pain). He's curled up on Julia's lap under a blanket and somewhat contented.

Now, for the eyes dilated: I was able to get into an ophthalmologist today. He's familiar with optic nerve hypoplasia (which is so much nicer than the first optometrist at Group Health I saw who never heard of it -- though he did try to research it for me). So I got a thorough eye exam, including pictures of my retinas and a visual field test (which I've never had before). The visual field test was "pristine." The retina pics were because the doctor say an issue with my left optic nerve. The optic nerve isn't a problem now, but needs to be monitored. So he recommended we request yearly screenings with an ophthalmologist yearly instead of with an optometrist. However, he doesn't think this is why I've had visual field disturbances -- his inclination is also optic migraine. *sigh*

I'm trying to keep a log of incidents so I can try to find triggers. The only new things I've had in the last two weeks is Diet Coke with Splenda (which has not been a problem in the past, but I haven't had it for a while) and a saline nasal spray (with propellant, which can be a problem). So neither of those for two days as well as a heat patch to reduce neck spasms and I'm okay today.
