Well, we got the 6-8 more overnight if not more. The news is saying we've gotten around 23 inches (which I think is a little high -- 15 inches looks more likely where I am, though the trees in front might be mitigating it a little). I still haven't heard whether or not my office is closed or not, but I'm not going in. I don't think I can make out my driveway and to the arterial a half block away. While I have studded tires and made it home last night, Buster isn't the best in the snow and is showing signs of his age. I don't want to expose him to overly stressful conditions if I don't have to.

This damned storm keeps stalling over us. The weatherman says he can barely see it moving on the radar.

Guess I'll have time to get the holiday cleaning done.

Here's why I didn't go to work today:

Where's the car????

Where's steps and sidewalk?

This is a great shot of just how much snow we've gotten. (BTW, garbage pickup up was suspended and will hopefully occur tomorrow. I wonder if I can get the cans to the curb??)

But it's pretty if you don't need to be out in it.

The storm has stalled again and they are now calling for another 4-6 inches. We are currently at ~25 inches -- an all-time record for snowfall in 24 hours.

One of my neighbors helped clean my sidewalks (she knows that I shouldn't be doing it) and I'm 50% of the way to having the car dug out. I have a path dug to the car and halfway down the car. I still need to finish behind the car; I am dug from the street to about 3-4 feet from the back of the car. I still need to figure out how to clear off the top of the car, but I don't know where to put the snow!

My street has been plowed once today so far. We are a little higher on the list that most residential areas because we run parallel to a minor arterial -- they plow the arterial one way, then they come up our street for the loop. This is no guarantee that there will be work -- I don't know if I will be able to get down the side streets to the office, much less into the parking lot.

The car is finally dug out -- for now. We may get another 3 inches overnight.

We set a record for amount of snow in 24 hours -- 19.4 inches. This shattered the previous record. In the past 36 hours, we've gotten nearly 25 inches. I hate this.

I went out three times to dig stuff out. I hurt now. Really hurt. I was almost in tears earlier because I was so tired and hurt so much. The application of new drugs helped immensely.

I suspect I am going to work tomorrow. At least, I plan to try -- my street's been plowed and the main street has been plowed. I have no idea what the streets around the office look like.
