Well, we got the dryer installed, but not without a little drama. Not during the installation, but rather during the scheduling.
When we purchased the dryer, we told the Sears salesman we weren't available mornings. He said he'd note it but couldn't make promises. Well, Mon. night, they call and get the answering machine. Do they try calling the secondary number? No, they leave a message and scheduled it for Tuesday (as requested) at 10-12 in the MORNING (as not requested)! Julia calls and reschedules for Wed. So THIS MORNING AT 7:20 (!!!!) as I am WALKING OUT THE DOOR, they call and schedule for 11:15 to 1:15!!!!!!! When I ask for a later time, I'm told too bad, it's automated and if I don't like it I can reschedule (like I expect they'll call before showing up that time??). When I ask for a manager, I'm told that none are in. Finally, I get them to give me the number for the national call center, who says they'll talk to dispatch and try to get us on the 1:15 end of things and someone will call in 1/2 hour. NOT! In fact, they called Julia at 10:00 to deliver the dryer!!!!!! I have to leave work specially for this delivery -- get home around 10:30 (after asking them not to show until 11:00) and they are waiting outside. At least they are being patient, but WE WERE THEIR LAST DELIVERY!!!!!!!! WTF!
Sorry for the all the exclamation points, but this is such bullshit and I haven't yet written my letter of complaint, mostly because I want to make sure I can control my language. When we do the planned upgrade of the laundry, guess who we aren't buying from! You got it -- Sears! I already told the lady at the national call center that they got one chance and blew it.
*grumble* At least I can clean and dry my clothes. And we are such goobers that we didn't realize our old dryer was gas and got an electric one to replace it.
