Julia made it home safe and sound last night -- after driving through some very unpleasant weather between Missoula, MT, and Wallace, ID (normally a 2.5 - 3 hour drive). She's still tired, but the car is unpacked!

She brought home some meat from a local grocery in TN -- and kept it frozen with dry ice. So we've been spending the last half hour or so playing with it in water and in drinks. Strawberry lemoncella bubbles so neatly with dry ice in it (if you don't put too much in and freeze it). The cats aren't sure what to make of it. Neither of them will take their eyes off the pot of dry ice/water. Sable's scared of it and won't walk near it while Vandal checked it out and deemed it not terribly interesting.

[EDIT: We were playing with the dry ice -- not the frozen meat. The cats know what to do with frozen meat -- EAT IT!]

Most of the dry ice is gone now. Sable keeps approaching it and even walked past it once, but keeps backing away again like she's still scared. Silly cat.

We got about an inch and a half of fluffy snow overnight. Fortunately nearly everything we had had before had melted away, so there isn't much ice under it.

I had to re-read the post several times. At first I thought you mant you were playing with the frozen meat in the water and drinks, which sounded unhealthy :)

Glad to hear Julia made it back safely!
