Poor Sable isn't too happy about having been left alone with Scamp this weekend. She's been hiding from him and hissing almost every time he comes near. I think most of what's going on is that she's overwhelmed by his overexuberance.

There's no resolution at work at the moment.

Things are going well with the computer except for one thing now. I can't find my Office 97 CD so I can reinstall Access. *sigh* Worst case scenario, I upgrade to the new Office Pro. I don't want to spend that kind of money, but I can't not have access to my herbal notes (stored in a database).

Well, before you resort to purchasing a new version just to have something, try OpenOffice.org.

I've tried it. I didn't really like it -- it hosed my print spoolers and forced me to reinstall everything. Now the computer was old and was on its last legs, but as long as I didn't have OpenOffice, it would run.

Yes, that would be a compelling reason to choose otherwise.

My sister has been using Star Office, which is another open source variant, for her Word and PowerPoint needs. I have no idea what their db software is like, though.
