Election Day
Nov. 2nd, 2004 08:08 amJulia and I are heading out to vote this afternoon. We just need to go up the street a little ways (not as close as our voting location was when we were on Collins), so it's not too bad. We're hoping that the middle of the afternoon won't be too bad.
Tonight we are going to an election party. I was asked to make something sweet and hand-friendly so I am doing cookies. Blue stars and donkeys. Just try finding donkey-shaped cookie cutters! I settled on a horse and lengthened the ears and added a tail. Worked better than I thought it would.
This morning I mentioned to Julia that what I am hearing about the antics of the DNC and RNC make me think of Third World elections where everyone accuses everyone else of ballot box stuffing and voter intimidation. Someone telling Democrats in PA that they need to vote 11/3 and someone else telling voters in the Midwest that they can't vote if they have voted earlier this year. I find this very disappointing and very high school.
Is anyone else as disappointed in this election as I am?
