Getting ready for the next one
Dec. 3rd, 2004 09:08 amWell, another winter storm is on the way, and this one is expected to dump 5-9 inches in the valley (and 8-12 in the mountains) on us by tomorrow night. Given that the last one was expected to dump less than an inch, I think we can expect on the higher end of that. We are not expecting the city to actually be able to keep the streets clear with this snowfall. This time at least, the city has its plows and deicers ready and will pretreat the streets. Hopefully, the roads won't be quite as dangerous.
Of course, Julia's department is having its holiday party this afternoon. It should be well over before the snow really starts; the storm isn't expected to hit until close to midnight. So we may even be able to see a holiday exhibit some of her students told us about. That would be neat.
I heard from the insurance company of the lady who hit Buster. I need to get an estimate (Julia is getting recommendations) and get back in touch with them. So far, they are being fairly nice about it, even if they originally wanted my insurance info -- I didn't give it to them because Buster was parked.
Other than that, not much else is going on right now.
