Aug. 1st, 2005 05:37 pmI know, back-to-back updates -- but I wanted to focus on one issue in the last update.
Can you believe that Oregon has passed a law requiring prescriptions for OTC cold medicines?!! With the anti-gay constitutional amendment and this, I'm glad we've moved out of that state. It's becoming downright fascist!
On top of that, Oregon's governor has threatened to veto a bill that would make the morning-after pill available without a doctor's visit. I didn't catch if the bill would allow pharmacists to "prescribe" it or if it would be OTC, but I'm not sure it matters. I do think the pill needs a supervised use as it does involve hormones, but getting a doctor's appoint could take long enough to prevent the pill from working (without danger to the mother).
Other than Oregon going conservative, things are going pretty well here. I overdid it a bit over the weekend and am feeling the effects, but it's not been too bad. Had a very productive weekend though. Julia's coming home on Friday, so I'm looking forward to that.
