Home again!
Aug. 20th, 2005 11:57 amPennsic was wonderful! We realized just how much we missed being there and spending loads of time with friends. We're both planning to come back next year come hell or high water (given that it's Pennsic -- could be both). Julia's thinking about running the Point next year. We both are planning a redux of the Saturday night party (just later in the week).
The flight home was rather bumpy. The midwest seemed to be having some wonderful storms that we felt most of the way. We got off the plane tired, cranky, and - in my case - sick. Seems the hoarseness wasn't just Pennsic throat. No fever, but intermittent sore throats and serious sinus drainage. No fun. So I didn't catch my flight from Seattle to Spokane and just drove with Julia (falling asleep during the drive). Needless to say, I didn't make it to work Thursday. But I did on Friday. Julia seems to be coming down with it too. *Grumble*
It feels great to be back in the land of no humidity. It's cooler than when we left for Pennsic, but still really nice. There was a wind storm (read dust storm) while we were gone, so everything has a coating of fine dust. Sable got trapped in the study overnight (door blew shut), but no real damage done. The kitties are so-o-o-o-o-o glad to see us. Vandal is attached to Julia's lap right now. Sable starts crying if she goes 15 minutes without being pet.
Now I'm getting ready for the Lions Blood meeting tomorrow. I'm ready, but the apartment isn't. So people are just going to have to deal.
