Sep. 15th, 2005 05:59 pmI saw the doctor yesterday about the neck and head aches. She thinks it's muscular and is sending me to a physical therapist for deep mycofacial massage and stretches. That should help. She would also like me to go back to the chiropractor. So I'm setting those in motion now. I needed to sort out the billing mess from my last chiropractic visit -- they billed me before they got a response from the insurance company and told me the ins. co. refused to pay. The ins. co. has paid for all those visits. I've got to call the dr. tomorrow (she was out today) and get the proper process going for physical therapy.
It seems silly to complain about the relatively minor issue I'm having when a dear local friend has begun her fight with ovarian cancer. She has a good prognosis, but a tough fight ahead. I feel like a wimp that a little pain has gotten to me so badly.
Right now, Georgie-Porgie (Jr.) is on the squawk box, prating about how well the recovery is (not) going. Preaching about the indominitable human spirit. You know, if he would actually walk the walk and not just squawk the talk, I might respect him. But he isn't and I don't. I mean, everyone knew what was coming into Louisianna, but the federal and state governments just sat on their asses until it was over. The federal gov just twiddled its thumbs until GP could deign to visit, coincidentally bringing the aid with him. I want to know why were people staged and ready to go in before the hurricane hit? Hmmmm?
My dad might be coming out of retirement. There's an issue with the bonus for taking early retirement if he goes back to work for the federal government. The reason he may be coming out of retirement is Hurricane Katrina. Most of you don't know that he received FEMA training back in 1999 and 2000 (he nearly got called to NYC after the bombing there). With the kind of background he has in construction, he would be quite useful there. We'll see what happens.
