Sep. 24th, 2005 07:47 amI know neither of us has journaled much lately -- mostly because I haven't had the energy. This week started off with me going to bed around 9:00 p.m. and sleeping rather heavily until my alarm went off at 6:10 the next morning. Seems like I may have caught a cold again. Grrf. I start physical therapy Monday. The dr. mostly wants them to do myofascial massage to get the muscles to relax. Other than that, there's nothing much new going on.
Julia's been going nuts this week getting everything ready for the start of the semester. Of course, right on schedule, the departmental copier dies, so the poor secretary has to run all over campus to get everyone's syllabi copied. She seems to be enjoying the classses she's teaching.
I feel really bad for everyone on the Gulf Coast right now. New Orleans had just dried out, and now it is under water all over again. I don't know how many of the structures are truly salvageable. The contaminations from molds and bacteria, water damage (especially to the wood and drywall), and the amount of debris -- it's truly overwhelming to think about. So, if haven't done so already, send a donation (any amount will be welcome) to one of the major charities supporting the hurricane victims.
