Oct. 7th, 2005 08:38 pmVandal's doing much better -- almost back to his old self, demanding water be the purrfect temp and depth to drink, getting underfoot in the kitchen, taking up Julia's lap. Yep, nearly normal. But, he's having increased jumping problems. I don't know if he's playing it up for sympathy or not. I think not.
Work has been interesting; yeah, that's the word. See there's this guy who I'm supposed to be working with trying to get the docs for my project done. Well, he declared that the docs are 100% complete and he's not going to answer any of my questions -- not even ones like, your say repeat steps 8 - 17 but there are only 14 steps, what do they do? Or questions like, how do I get from this screen to the next one (because I can't see any button that would make that move happen)? Fortunately, my boss knows about the problem. Unfortunately, this spoiled brat was able to successfully outwait me -- he's out of town for two weeks. Grumble.
The physical therapy has been very helpful - I'm having a lot less breakthrough pain in my neck and shoulders and nearly no headaches. It does happen, usually when I've lifted more than 10 lbs or I've turned too quickly. But it's progress. Unfortunately, I think it's being limited by the aggravation at work.
Today was particularly annoying. I found out at 2:00-ish that one of the engineers was going to a client-site and wanted copies of the newest training presentation (which isn't done because the spoiled brat won't talk to me). The engineer thought I knew he needed them today. I asked him how I would know because no one told me and I didn't even know he was going to be on client-site next week. I knew there was a training presentation being done by one of the field service guys next week, but not when they needed it by. I got as much revision done as I could so we could print off the handouts for them.
While I was fighting this fire, one of the sales guys wanted me to make several, small niggly changes to a document that just had to go out today too. Only he hadn't talked to me about them. AND he wanted me to print the document out and circulate it for signatures. I told him that wasn't my job and I was up to my ears in the 100+ slide training presentation that had to be done by end of the day. He made his small niggly changes in his copy of the doc and left it to me to change the master doc (which was okay as I am the document controller). Grumble.
But the day is over, never to be lived again. And we have a weekend ahead of us with NO COMMITMENTS!! Which is good because next week is an event followed by my Lions Blood meeting (we've got to clean) and the weekend after that is picking up the LB files (we've got to unpack the Buick).
