Poor Vandal. Sometimes he just can't seem to win. He just got antibiotics for a urinary tract infection, then has some problems with vomiting and diarrhea. But we think this might just be a reaction to so many antibiotics over the last year and a half (diabetes increases the likelihood of infections -- especially UTIs). So we talked to the vet and picked up a probiotic that will replenish the natural flora of his gut -- they make them now specially for kitties.

Fortunately, he seems to like it, which is good. It comes as a powder and I wasn't looking forward to trying to get it down his throat.

Otherwise he seems to be doing fine.

We just finished watching the first season of Doctor Who (the new series) on DVD. It's awesome. Then Julia said to me, "I wonder what would happen if the Doctor met Ty Bennington on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on Sat 5?"

My response: "Eeeep! The world wouldn't survive."

We have a home!

We didn't do as well on the price bargain as we had hoped, but we did get a 1-year warranty. For those who are interested, here is our new house. The two rooms we want to use as a library aren't shown here, nor is the back yard. But it's still a good set of pics until I upload the ones we took.
