More on the house

I know buying a house is stressful, but I didn't expect it to be this stressful. Thursday I got a call from our mortgage broker about some paperwork he needs. Friday morning I called him to find out if getting it Monday would be okay and still allow us to close next week. I am told by his partner in business that he will be out of town for a few weeks due to a "family emergency!" When I express disbelief because I had talked to him Thursday evening, I discover that the "family emergency" involves a neighbor, broken jaw with 3 inches of exposed bone and emergency surgery Fri morning. Yes, my mortgage broker now has his jaw wired shut. His neighbor attacked him at home (and the partner -- his wife -- didn't say why).

His wife is taking over his client load, so our closing shouldn't be affected.

March Madness

Normally, neither Julia nor I watch much in the line of sports. Except she likes to watch March Madness. So we just finished watching a serious nailbiter -- Vanderbilt vs. Washington State University (or WSU - pronounced Wazoo). Julia claimed she wasn't rooting for either team as she would like to see both of them win. She SAYS she just wanted a close game. Two overtimes later and Vanderbilt won (by 4) and she was whooping up a storm.

She wasn't rooting for Vanderbilt. No, never.
