The house painting is going well -- finally. They got started in earnest a week late -- the owner got sick (and still seems to be under the weather), the son's daughter got sick and he was having trouble getting childcare, then the son got the daughter's virus. So they are working this weekend to try to catch up. I think the company is also having some cash-flow problems -- the painting season got off to a late start because June was chilly and damp (and the economy sucks). So we've been buying the paint and picking it up instead of them buying it and billing us. This suits us just fine as we can pay for the paint on credit and spread out the payments.

Today they did the bulk of the white on the house. There's some touch-up areas and trim they need to do in white, then they can start on the color. Tomorrow they plan to finish the touch-ups and some spraying, then start on the trim. I think they will also stain the side deck, so we can get the plants out of the kitchen. Hopefully by mid-week, they'll be done and we can send pics to the insurance company!
