Today was a lovely day -- nearly 50 and partly sunny. This is quite unusual for February in Spokane!

The downside is that I pulled my back this morning. That's nothing new, but I really can't afford to get hurt this close to the house closing and moving. Fortunately, I think it will heal quickly -- as long as I can avoid the muscle relaxants. Unfortunately, coming home last night, I had a stone turn under my foot and fell, which left me stiff and sore this morning so I took a muscle relaxant. Hence, the pulled back. *sigh*

We've started packing already. Just stuff we don't use often. So far we've got 10 or so boxes of books packed. The fabric was never unpacked, so that's one more thing we don't need to do. Tentatively, we will move on 3/24 -- anyone nearby who wants to help is welcome. We'll start moving some loads of boxes (particularly fragile stuff) as soon as we get possession of the house.

Otherwise things are quiet. Julia's involved in a tenure search for another member of her department (so she'll finally have someone junior to her) and for a joint appointment position. So she's busy! Me, I just want to throttle some people in Shreveport, but that's not new.

I shan't complain about your getting some nice weather while we have all this freezing ick, considering what you've been through already this winter. It snowed 3/4 of an inch last evening in Pittsburgh, but luckily it didn't hamper driving much. I just hope that things are fairly clear for my trip back to the FedroSplat.

Best of luck with the move -- sorry I can't be there to help. Distance aside, [livejournal.com profile] principia_coh and [livejournal.com profile] byronczimmer are getting married that day.
