Buying a fridge is an adventure I wouldn't wish on anyone. Only one manufacturer (Whirlpool) sets up a search by size, but then doesn't display the sizes in the results. So you have to click on each result, then click on the specifications tab (which, of course, isn't the tab that is open by default). So I've done lots of clicking and backing up and clicking and backing up.

Yesterday we thought we found the fridge we wanted (and likely the one they had), but all that was left was the floor model. That'll do. When I went to order it today, I discovered that this Sears won't deliver floor models when they are the last one of the model available. That won't do. So we went out looking for fridges tonight. Good thing we weren't trying to replace a broken one. Oh, and yeah, we think we found one -- so I'll try to order it tomorrow.

Unfortunately, I feel like crap today. Right before lunch I got hit with a hell of a headache, mild lightheadedness, and the shakes. Later that turned into mild nausea, mild lightheadedness with a touch of dizziness, hell of a headache, chills, and the shakes. 800 mg of ibuprofen, lunch and a very sugary pop tart later I felt almost human again -- until 6:00-ish when the headache and lightheadedness threatened to make a comeback. Dinner and ultracet seem to have conquered it for a while. *grrrph*

Ugh. When we had to replace a dead fridge in a hurry a few years ago we did not have nearly that much trouble. We went to Sears (measurements in hand), picked one, and arranged for them to bring it by the next day. They even agreed to give us 20 minutes' notice via cell phone so one of us could run home from work instead of staying home all morning.

May this be the biggest hassle with your new house!

We had the measurements -- it's just that the space is so short. If we wanted a crappy, tiny fridge, we could have gotten one - but we wanted one we could live with. 65.75 inches is just an unpleasant size; manufacturers are discontinuing that height.

Good news, the fridge we ordered was quoted wrong. The guy quoted the wrong model fridge (cheaper) but will honor that quote as it was his fault.
