Mar. 16th, 2005 10:01 amToday we might get rain and will probably get a lot of wind. And we won't hit 50* in all likelihood. Such is life. It looks like we should get rain over several days in the next couple weeks, but the rainfall amount is still going to be significantly below average.
So why did I bring this up? Because today's weather is the first weather of the year likely to cause wildfires. It is so dry here that, despite the beautiful warm weather, our grass is brown like mid-July. If we get thunderstorms with lightning strikes, fires are inevitable. Couple that with 25-40 mph winds (and higher) and it could get real nasty. Fortunately, being in the city reduces our risk of fire. But not of dust storms, which could happen if we don't get the rain. Oy!
